A travellers’ house in the heart of the coffee region
And in Filandia, there’s a house where every journey finds its story.
euskera · basque
bi·de·a
A name that is a route
“Bidea en Euskera quiere decir “El Camino”. Seguramente estás viajando por el mundo o planeas hacerlo. Es por eso que somos el Hostal perfecto para ti.”
“Bidea means “The Path” in Basque. You’re probably travelling the world, or planning to. That’s why we’re the right hostel for you.” (our translation)
That’s why this house doesn’t pitch itself as a destination but as a stop along the way: somewhere to arrive with your pack, stay one night longer than planned and leave with another route written down.
The house
Bamboo, big plants, well-worn armchairs and green doors opening over the rooftops. Inside, Bidea feels more like a family home than a hotel.

Breakfast & community
Bidea has something of the houses you come back to. A bicycle resting in the courtyard, coffee served without hurry and people who came from very far away only to end up sharing the same table.
Breakfast is included and coffee is on all day. It isn’t a party hostel: it’s a calm, chatty house with books to swap, films, board games and an equipped kitchen.
“Came for 3 nights, stayed for 6. Good vibes, clean space, very helpful and friendly staff, fair price, great location, and the breakfast has bread made from real sourdough starter (masa madre) and is delicious…”
Mono showed up in Bidea’s stories in June 2023, when the house introduced him — jokingly — as its true owner. A photo for the house album.
Experiences
Coffee, cloud forest, lookouts, baskets and roads made for bikes. Save the ones you like to “My route” and send them together in one message.
